
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is expanding its ranks by 134, having extended invitations to Hollywood artists and executives including Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Seth Rogen and 'Slumdog Millionaire' director Danny Boyle. Watch the video!
"These filmmakers have, over the course of their careers, captured the imagination of audiences around the world," says Academy President Sid Ganis. "It's this kind of talent and creativity that make up the Academy, and I welcome each of them to our ranks."
Invitees from all aspects of the motion picture industry -- from actors and directors to writers, cinematographers, animators, set decorators, production designers, film editors and publicists -- include such recognizable names as Casey Affleck, Michael Cera, Viola Davis, James Franco, Emile Hirsch, Taraji P. Henson, James McAvoy, Paul Rudd, Rod Lurie and Tom Cruise producing partner Paula Wagner.
